THE MARKINGS:

IT IS AGAINST THE LAW:
TO DUPLICATE ANY OLD DOORSTOP
WITHOUT IDENTIFING IT AS SUCH
ANY INFRINGMENT WOULD BE FRAUD!

ALWAYS CHECK TO SEE:
FOR A " MARKING " ON THE DOORSTOP BACK
MATCH IT TO THE DOCUMENTATION EXACTLY!

THIS IS WHY PICTURES SHOWN
@ THIS INTERNET SITE
INCLUDE THE DOORSTOP BACK

Therefore, most Reproductions are identified with the New Manufacturer Unique Marking(s).

Examples of such, are the reproductions produced by the John Wright Company.
John Wright bought the old Hubley Molds and began his reproductions around 1940.
His factory is located in Wrightsville, PA, right next door to the old Wilton Products Factory.
However, the Wilton Products Factory has been destroyed.
All his reproductions are easily distinguished by his unique markings.
His markings are an embossed rectangle with engraving in that rectangle.

(1) The Manufacturer's Number Did Not Always Come Engraved on the Back of the Doorstop.
Sometimes, it came on a Piece of Paper supplied with the Doorstop
It is more desireable to have an number engraved on the doorstop which eliminates any confusion as to its duplication
The engraved doorstop is always worth a little more than an unengraved one

(2) For Hollow Full-Figured 2-Piece: On Inside Curved Surface of Doorstop will be "HUBLEY"
EXAMPLE: Aunt Jemima (Sometimes there, Not Always)
